2012 Stay in the Game

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope you all had a fun and safe Holiday.

Today marks the first full week on the the year. Most of us have forgotten or broken our New Years Resolution. Studies show that 20% of people who have made a New Year’s Resolution would have broken it today. So if you haven’t broken or even forgotten that you made a resolution than Congratulations!!!

So how can you continue to stay on track even if you've gotten off track?  These simple secrets will help you Stay in the Game.

  1. Have a plan. Don’t wait till the tornado comes to take shelterBe prepared!! By now you should  know the warning signs; you know what drives you to fall into temptation. Don’t put yourself into position where you may give in and fail

  1. If you do fail…Don't worry it gonna be AOKay  We all make mistakes. Just because you failed that time does not make the person you are. YOUR ARE NOT A Failure. So Pick yourself up and learn from your makes Don’t let you relapse be a total collapse.

Those  of you who are dieting I know that you probably are missing or craving your favorite junk food. Don't be so strict on yourself....Go ahead and EAT. But wait a minute! I’m not telling you to call the nearest pizza parlor who can deliver your pizza within the next 15mins. NO WaY,  Are you kidding me?!!! Put that phone down!!  There are plenty of healthier alternatives to your favorite foods. IF you think you are missing out on something get in that kitchen and COOK.  I can tell ya right now there are not that many places that will make something so delicious and healthy without emptying your pocket book for a bite size treat. So save your money and be proud that you will know what is in your food.
Did you know you can bake donuts?!!  Yes you can.  In fact I made some today. ;) Recipe Below

DeAnna’s Fit Baked Jelly Donuts

Ingredients:

1 cup all purpose flour
¾ tsp baking power
¾ tsp baking soda
Dash of salt
1 egg
16 oz non fat vanilla yogurt
1 tbs canola oil
2 tsp lemon juice
3 tbs granulated sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
¾ cup sugar
3 tbs melted butter
Favorite Jelly (natural as possible stay away from the ones with corn syrup) Low sugar

Equipment:
Icing Syringe/ pastry bag

Mini Muffin pan
Oven –Preheat to 350 degrees
Microwave

2 Large bowls

Mix cinnamon and ¾ cup of sugar and set aside.  In a large bowl mix all other dry ingredients together. Take another bowl and mix together, egg, yogurt, sugar, oil and lemon juice. Slowly fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredient bowl.  Place batter into muffin pan to about ½ full. Bake until golden brown.

**The sides seem to cook fast so if you see it starting to darken, take them out immediately. The center maybe not cook all the way but don’t freak out.. That will be taken care of later.
Let cool and take the little “muffin donuts” out of the pan.
Lightly brush the donuts with butter. Sprinkle donuts with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Place donuts on a baking dish and put them back in oven and let it finish cooking 10 mins. Take donuts out of the oven. Let cool slightly. Fill Pastry bag with jelly. Use a round tip to fill the donuts with jelly.
BTW If you are not a fan of jelly donuts they taste great without it as well!!

Enjoy
Wishing you a joy filled day everyday this year :)
